Full Time Result -> Genoa at odds 2.55
Come the end of the season, this match may be forgotten as an inconsequential midtable slugfest. However, the reverse Serie A (SA) fixture in September produced no less than eight goals and six yellow cards!Genoa won 3-1 away at Empoli in the last round, gaining just their second win in 15 league matches (W2, D5, L8). It was a rare away win, as Genoa have been a typical ‘home side’ this season, winning 16 of their 23-point total in front of their own fans. After three wins here at the start of the season however, things have not been running as smoothly, with just one win in the last eight (W1, D4, L3). The main problem is finding the net, as they’ve only scored nine goals in their last eight home matches - drawing blanks in two in a row.Entering the round six points ahead of their hosts, Sassuolo also won in the last round - for the first time in five matches (W1, D2, L2). Curiously, a 2-0 result (either way) has occurred in close to half of ‘Neroverdis’ away matches this season (45% - in all competitions).Careful on the road, the total goals average from Sassuolo’s away matches (2.2 per match) is the (joint) second lowest in the league. Furthermore, just four of their ten SA away matches have seen both teams score.Players to watch: Young forward Christian Kouame has four SA goals for Genoa so far, while Khouma Babacar has six for Sassuolo - both found the net in the last round.
