Asian Handicap (-1), Ordinary Time (1.0) -> Senegal (-1) at odds 3.50
Algeria are carrying an impressive squad with them into the Nations Cup, but will that be enough? They are hoping that this group will get them over the line as they look to become champions of Africa. They started by beating Kenya 1-0 in their last game, which wasn’t a ringing endorsement for the Greens. They’ve won this competition on only one occasion – back in 1990. Since they’ve been underwhelming through most years, while the class of 2019 could easily go down the same route here. While Algeria have some top talents from the European game, Senegal’s squad comes almost exclusively from the continent. They have one of the game’s highest-rated defenders in Kalidou Koulibaly, Mane’s pace going forward and they can call on the likes of Keita Balde, M’Baye Niang and Idrissa Gueye. They’ve got a great defensive structure including screens in front of the back four, while they’ve got an attack which helps them shade games.
